I thought about writing this article because many of my friends, as well as newbie bloggers, are asking me “What is WordPress?”

So writing an article on this topic was much easy for me rather telling each and everyone about it.

WordPress is one the verge to acquire big market of blogging in coming few years.

These facts are really amazing and you don't have any reason to say NO to use WordPress.

What is WordPress.com and what is WordPress.org?

This is the second most asked question when people get to know about what is WordPress.

Newbies are always confused between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

WordPress.com

This is a system which let you make FREE website hosted with WordPress. Technically we call it WordPress hosted website. This means that all the data you will write or upload will be hosted at WordPress servers and you will use it at FREE of cost.

A WordPress website will have a name like bloggingcage.wordpress.com.

You can use this system if you don't want to pay for hosting.

Simply buy one good domain and use that domain with WordPress.com as custom domain.

Means this is same as Google's blogger.com or blogspot.com

WordPress.org

WordPress.org give you a script to download which you can installed on your hosting and use it as you wish. This will be called as a Self-Hosted website.

Every hosting gives you the freedom to install WordPress on it. You can use Quick Install or Fantastico option to install WordPress on your domain. All the files you will use on your blog will be uploaded on your own hosting and you will have separate SQL database for your blog.

Final Words !!

Hope your queries got cleared about what is WordPress and now you can decide which thing to choose for your blogging.

if you have any query then ask in the comment section and I would love to assist you.
