Well , You are right that Guest posting reduces a lot of burden , but i stress on my terms and conditions for accepting the guest posts . People easily accept guest posts because they find them easy to post but what they forget about is the quality of the article . I have seen many Guest posts with almost no traffic meant to build only backlinks .

Well, very well said. Precisely about the benefits of guest posting, but what about it’s disadvantage? There are lot of companies out there constantly keep writing guest post with fake personalities just for gaining backlinks, which disappears when their guest posts needs reply to the comments. Of course, it can be very bad for blog reputation when readers feels ignored.
One should go for a proper inquiry about his/her guest before proceeding further. If the person really exist or not.
Yes! There are disadvantages too, but every coin has two faces, why always see negative, Go with the positive ones! And such Companies are just doing their job to gain exposure. But it’s very bad when they disappear at th time of replying to people’s comments! However, thanks for stopping by and giving such valuable information in the form of comment!
OOPS, are you saying to ignore “disadvantages” ? we need to understand both, so that we can weigh our decision to guest post or not.
Nops.. Nothing like that! I just ask you to think positive! And these things depends upon person to person and various circumtances that he/she would like accept guest posts or not! Am not saying we shouldn’t consider the disadvantages, but Accepting Guest Posts has more PROS then CONS.
I don’t think that Abhi is being a pessimist at all, Kuldeep – he’s one of the most positive people I know, online. But he’s right, there are some drawbacks.
Now, having said that, I did approach him about a guest post (very selfish of me, as I needed to land a few in order to win a contest I was entered in) and he kindly agreed. It was the start of a beautiful friendship. I’m sure he knows the positives. (Ironically, I’d read a GUEST post on his blog about why you should NOT allow guest posting on your blog – and my proposal to write a guest post was based on the mistaken assumption that he’d written the post, and I was going to offer a silly rebuttal! Imagine my surprise when he quickly accepted my offer!
But recently, he also encountered a guest posting scam – had he not considered the cons, as well as the pros, he might have given valuable backlinks to a fraud, and spent HIS valuable time editing a pretty poorly written post. Pays to keep your eyes open and be a REALIST.

Yes. I don’t advertise for guest posts. I’ll accept them, on occasion, but usually from writers I know well or bloggers who’ve built up a good reputation, themselves. I rarely write guest posts – too much like real work, most days, but doesn’t pay as well.
I will do it for friends, but I don’t usually give away exclusive rights for free. I find it interesting how many bloggers expect writers to turn over all rights for a few dollars – or even just for the hope of winning a few dollars.

I get where vijay is coming from, but suggest, instead, that he develop relationships with other bloggers first – reach out to a few, open up to guest posts selectively, and remember that editorial control is always his. (And yes, it’s okay to say – even to a friend – “No, this isn’t what I had in mind,” or, “This needs some edits before I can publish it.”) The choice whether to “kill your blog” with spammy guest posts is always – ALWAYS – yours.
