When I first started blogging I soon realized the blogosphere was not as friendly as it seemed. The first community I ever joined was named Blog Catalog. The staff, its members and the entire community was so “stuck up” it may had been one of the worst social communities I had ever joined.
This is what sort of started me into the direction of actually starting and creating the Blog Engage blogging community. I wanted to create a more friendly environment for bloggers to hang out and share their own blog links.
When I first started marketing the idea of Blog Engage every one of the big bloggers I went to wanted nothing to do with the idea. They wouldn’t help me market, promote or add the Affiliate Lights banner images to their sites. The point here is even with all the negative feedback I had on the idea I never quit and I continued working hard at launching and creating my idea of a fun online blog community.
Like anything we do in life someone will always be there to tell you it’s a terrible idea and the chances of success are limited. What you have to do is look the other way and try to continue being positive about the idea. The world is full of these people as many of you already know. We have to keep our heads up and we have to keep moving forward.
When someone tells you, you cannot do it or your idea is no good, you have to work harder at achieving your success. Do not let this person be right, you beloved in your idea so keep believing and keep working hard at launching it successfully. Trust me when you launch your project or idea and it’s a success you will never feel something so amazing as that feeling. Working harder also means over achieving on your personal expectations. Bringing your game to the highest possible level is of most importance when it comes to launching your profile, service or idea.
Just because someone says your idea won’t work doesn’t mean we should ignore them. In fact they may have some valid points. Take the constructive criticism and see if you can apply it to your idea. Is there room for improvement, perhaps the feedback you’re getting can in fact make your idea that much better. Learning how to accept negative feedback is hard but for the most part it offers amazing advice you can’t ignore.
Make Marketing Fun
When you’re ready to launch your product or service have fun with it, love it and respect it. Guest blog about it, visit all your favorite sites and let all your blogging friends know about it. Offer it to your friends for free if they can write a review for you. Open your mind to new opportunity and options when it comes to sales and marketing. For example I have a partnership with Just Retweet and Chris and I have built such a strong relationship where we both benefit and see value from our partnership.
I know blogging is hard, and to have the stress of others keeping you down it’s just impossible to get any where. If you want to start a blog about blogging go ahead, don’t let anyone tell you the market is over saturated. If you want to start a blogging tips blog just do it, don’t listen to other if they say oh no, not another blogging tips blog. What you have to understand is it doesn’t matter what others are saying or doing, this is your idea and you have the right to do it as you wish.
If you take anything away from my post today I hope it’s that you have the right to do what you want when you want. If you have an idea you believe in then don’t let anyone else tell you it won’t work. Believe in yourself and keep working hard towards your goals. Don’t sit back and agree with anyone else, don’t let them stop you from doing something you truly believe in. This is your life and it’s time you take control of it and do what you want with it.
What’s your thoughts? Have you ever had someone put down your blog, service or product? Did you give up? Did you work harder to prove them wrong? I would love to hear back from you on this topic, let me know your thoughts.
