Web 2.0 is always a topic of debate. Many bloggers are still confused about web 2.0 websites and some even don’t know what they are.
In technical term web 2.0 is an advanced Internet technology and applications including blogs, wikis, RSS and social bookmarking. Web 2.0 was evolved in year 2003 which brought the revolutionary changes in internet and the internet which we are using today falls in the category of web 2.0 websites.
But why web 2.0 for SERP?
You might have seen in recent months that Google is contiguously changing the algorithms. To rank in Google with a particular keyword is becoming hard and hard. Google have made some guidelines and they have given some signals from which we can predict that what are the things which they take care to rank any website.
Web 2.0 are one of them.
When we syndicate our content on web 2.0 websites then we add one extra property to our backlinks (they are called web 2.0 property websites), which help us in boosting our search engine ranking.

Note: You must make backlinks from relevant websites only. Google considers the relevancy of backlinks first, the quality comes later. Suppose if you have a health blog, then a backlink from a PR4 health website is healthier for your blog than another link coming from a PR7 blogging niche website. So select web 2.0 website for your niche very carefully and start making good backlinks.
Tip: Start using tumblr; they have great options to take backlinks from PR8-PR9 links. Rescoop option will help you to make those backlinks.

I have also tried various web2.0 websites mentioned in the list above and in some cases I found huge difference but in others not a disasteric one. So it there any special way by which I should develop links to find difference ?

Arsh you will have to make your Web 2.0 also strong one. Try to add more content in your Web 2.0 sites and then take backlinks from them.

Web 2.0 can do wonders in SERP. These are the contextual backlinks from high PR and DA website. But, while creating web 2.0 blogs, always remember that Web 2.0 blogs with just single post are considered as spam by Google. For example, if http://web2_name.tumblr.com/ has just single post then if will be a spam.
May be you won’t receive this penalty right now. But, If you are looking for doing long term SEO, then always put at least 3 posts at a web 2.0 blog.
