Guest blogging is the fastest way to get instant traffic from search engines, social networks and from the established blogs, all just by writing a couple of posts to the blog, and that traffic will keep coming for life, or at least for as long as it is published and the blog is live.
The advantages of guest blogging is it can boost a blog traffic even if the blog is just getting started, much like Facebook can boost the traffic to any blog that is just getting started.
However, getting your post accepted is not easy because these blogs are very careful about nor accepting content from low quality sources of information and writers just looking for a traffic boost who write just about topics which are already so written about.
To boost your chances of getting your post approved you need to:
1. Do research before writing
Spend 15-20 minute for doing research about the article that what people are writing and what you can add in their writing. If you are targeting any keyword then do keyword research before writing and target keywords with less competition.
Do not write about old news which no one cares anymore. Be one step ahead of the blogging industry and write about what is very likely to come next, ahead of everybody.
2. Read the guidelines carefully
Reading the guidelines should be very first step after selecting the article you are going to write. Different blogs have different guidelines so can never guess that what they want form the guest writers. Spend little time on reading the word length, restriction etc in the guidelines. So you can take care all the things while writing the post.
3. Read all related posts on that blog
Do proper research on the blog so that you will be aware what have already written on that particular blog. This will also give you idea to link your article with the previous written post. your this practice will reduce the work load of the blog owner and finally bounce rate of the blog will also decrease.
4. Write what you know
Write just about the topic you are the expert on. If you have a Master Degree about Business Administration, it makes absolutely no sense to write about Medicine.
Take online marketing and writing courses to learn what kind of posts you should write for the internet because writing a post for a blog is not exactly the same as writing a paper to your university professor.
5. Write long posts
Keep the posts longer than 500 words and if you have enough time, make them bigger than 750 words. Readers look at long posts as useful, information rich and more trustful than posts with just 200 words.
People enjoy to read long and informative article so try to add more and more points in the article.
6. Avoid too much linking
Use no more than three links per post to avoid making the post look commercial or marketing intended. All the links should be pointed at different pages.
Too much linking will distract the reader to enjoy the article and your article will become too messy.
7. Keep writing
Write new posts every week and if you have the time, write every day to keep the blog owner happy, and to keep traffic as high as possible. It makes absolutely no sense to write just one post per month because people are looking for new information in real time today.
8. Use Google Alerts
Use Google Alerts to be able to read new information just posted on the internet in real time to keep informed about how the topic is developing and even to see what competition is writing about.
Guest blogging is here to stay and it is a business model which will never go away as long as blogs are the primary way to share information with the internet. As long as you are able to keep up writing high quality, information rich posts, you will always have more than enough work to do. Always keep writing for a couple blogs to attract traffic and links for several domains. It is better to write one post a week for 10 blogs, than to write 10 posts for just one blog, in terms of SEO.
