Facebook is a large source of traffic, with over 1 billion active users, it’s like a swarm of traffic, and the only way we can benefit from it is if we know how to tap it. But for bloggers, having only Facebook as the source of traffic is not enough as tapping traffic from Facebook is somewhat difficult and won’t yield much result if not done correctly.
However, if you have a combination of traffic from Facebook and search engines then be ready to experience a blast of traffic to your blog. In this article, I will be explaining how the traffic varies when using only Facebook and when using Facebook along with search to fetch a good amount of traffic to your blog posts.

Blog Traffic from only Facebook
We often think that getting traffic from Facebook is easier than doing all those search engine optimizations, as we just need to share one link and boom, our blog gets hit by a swarm of traffic. But that’s true only in rare cases and only if you have a good number of followers.
Attract more people to like
Facebook can fetch many readers, if you have a good number of following or liking your page on Facebook, and only if you make them feel interested enough to leave the addictive environment of Facebook and read your post.
If you want to get a lot of visits to your blog from Facebook then you should better start by getting some Facebook likes to your blog page, so as to build an audience for your blog on Facebook, who will actually read your posted content.

Be Social
Despite of getting all these traffic from Facebook, it still has a limit, as Facebook is a place where people tend to be social. People do not go to Facebook to seek news or articles, so there lies a good chance that people will visits your shared link on Facebook, but still you won’t be seeing a huge bump in traffic.
Moreover, on Facebook, you will need to keep promoting your stuffs in order to attain maximum reach, but in the other case, which is SEO, if your blog is ranked good by Google or any other search engine, then you can get a lot of traffic to your posts without promoting them individually.

Blog Traffic from Facebook + Google
Since we have discussed how Facebook can help in bringing you new readers, now its time to see the magic of Google as well. With Google your limit to the traffic takes a new level, and you can almost have infinite traffic to your site if you can use Google efficiently. However, that is a very tedious job, so focusing now for getting a decent amount of traffic, Google can help much better than Facebook.
Learn the Things
Here also, it’s better not to focus on a single source of traffic, as Google can provide you with a ton of traffic, as people go to Google for searching information, pages that they need to read or see, so here lies a very good chance that your page will be seen by many, if it ranks well in Google.
Still having a single source of traffic sets a limit, and having multiple sources of traffic extends that limit. In addition, thanks to the various Panda and Penguin updates in Google’s search algorithm, Google also relies on social media, like Facebook to rank pages in its search results pages known as SERPs.
Therefore, that means, a blog that has no influence on social media like Facebook, is likely to be ranked below a blog that has a good influence on social media. So if you can make your blog popular on Facebook, or tend to have a good social signal from Facebook, then your blog will automatically tend to rank higher in Google SERPs.

It is always recommended by Google team, that a site should establish its presence on the social media, to rank well in Google search results. Now I assume that you have understood that utilizing Facebook and Google both can be a good recipe for getting a large amount of traffic to your blog.
Solution
So, don’t go for a single source, always establish your presence both in the search world and the social world, as that way your site will be considered much more valuable and deserving by the search and social media giants, and will ultimately make your blog much more popular than what it is today.
This brings me to the end of the article and I hope that you have enjoyed reading this article and found it interesting and useful for your blogging career. If you focus on these points then I am sure you will be having a good and popular blog.

Though for now, social is not major aspect to rank in search engines (it does affect rankings, but to small extent), in near future we can expect majority of rankings on social networks.
FB and G+ are really have big share in getting more social reaction for your online business.
Again it all depends on the niche, yes, you need to try with all major social networks and see where you can get much people interacting about your niche.

Rahul Chowdhury recently posted..What Should be the Qualities of Creative Blogger
Well mate, ask any pro.
How can you say that being dependent on two sources of traffic will be the “perfect” recipe?
Sure saying that? Then if that’s already perfect, there’s no sense people using StumbleUpon, Twitter, Feedburner, etc. etc. coz when you’re already perfect at something, why would you need to add more value as a perfectionist yourself? Ironically nothing is perfect in this world, buddy. Driving Traffic has deep aspects. There aren’t two; there’re many, some sources such that a rare fraction of people are known to it.
Hope I’m apt at my point.
