Simple Tips to Add Nofollow Attribute to Blogroll Links

Google Everywhere.

They have made so much SEO rules that to learn all of them you will have to spend months. They have so much guidelines which you need to follow. Having proper dofollow/nofollow links on your blog is one of them.

In my previous article I shared different between nofollow and dofollow and both are very much important for a blog.

According to Google they don’t follow nofollow attribute so we should have all un-trusted links as nofollow.

Here I am going to share a simple guide to add nofollow attribute in blogroll links.

For adding nofollow attribute there are too many plugins available which can do this task very easy for you. But I am using very less plugins at Blogging Cage and most of the time I implement features in the form of codes only.

Because more plugins make your website heavy and it will take time to load.

Every plugin you install send a SQL query which make your site heavy.

Using these tips you can add nofollow very easily without using any extra plugin on your site.

Let’s Start for Chrome

1. Go to Setting (Top Right Corner)

2. Click Show Advance Setting (At the bottom of page)

3. Under Privacy click on Content Setting

4. Under Javascript click on Do not allow any site to run JavaScript

5. Click OK

Now you have disabled javascript in your browser.

Let’s do setting at your blog now.

1. Open your blog dashboard

2. Open Links

3. Edit any Link

4. See Link Relationship (See screenshot below) and add nofollow in rel.

5. Save this link

Now the link you have edited and save will be having nofollow attribute.

Let’s do for Firefox

1. Go to Tools > Options

2. Click on Content

3. Untick Enable Javascript

4. Save

Rest of the process is same.

Do you use Internet Explorer? ( Let’s do this )

1. Open Setting > Internet Options

2. Click on Security

3. At bottom click on Custom Level

4. Find Scripting

5. Click on disable

6. Click OK

Now I have taught you how to add in these three browsers. If you are using any other browser then just Google it and see how you can disable javascript in that browser.

This is very simple and easy to do tips to add Nofollow Attribute.

Kulwant,

I cant understand why you disable the java-script of your browser?

We can simply add the nofollow in the HTML side.

    Sorry but I can get you where the blogroll links? You mean default present in WordPress widget?
    
    If yes then why to use that? simple use text widget to make the links on sidebar.

      Tushar you are welcome to use your own methods. This was just a tip to share so that people can make their blogroll nofollow. There are many other ways to do this task.
